How the changes shift time differences

Countries change on different dates, and many don't change at all, so the gap between two cities moves during the year. The dark line marks today.

Frequently asked questions

When do the clocks change in 2026?US & Canada: forward Sun, Mar 8, back Sun, Nov 1. UK & Ireland: forward Sun, Mar 29, back Sun, Oct 25. Australia (south-east): forward Sun, Oct 4, back Sun, Apr 5. New Zealand: forward Sun, Sep 27, back Sun, Apr 5. Central Europe changes on the same days as the UK.
Does India have daylight saving time? No. India stays on India Standard Time (GMT+5:30) all year. Its time difference with the US, UK, and Europe changes by an hour whenever they change their clocks.
Does the UAE have daylight saving time? No. The UAE, including Dubai and Abu Dhabi, stays on Gulf Standard Time (GMT+4) all year.
Why are New York and London only 4h apart for a few weeks? The US moves its clocks forward on Sun, Mar 8, 3 weeks before the UK (Sun, Mar 29). Until the UK catches up, London is 4h ahead instead of 5h. It happens again in the autumn because Europe falls back first: Mar 8 – Mar 28 and Oct 25 – Oct 31.
Will my recurring meetings move when the clocks change? For some people, yes. A recurring invite stays fixed to the organizer's time zone, so anyone in a place that changes on a different date, or doesn't change at all, sees it move by an hour. The meeting planner works out every city's local time for the exact date you pick, so you can check before it catches anyone out.

Plan meetings that survive the clock change

Pick any date in the meeting planner and every city's local time is worked out for that day, daylight saving included.
